24 Hours, No seizures...

Well, today has been a pretty smooth day. Georgia has spent most of the day sleeping, I think this is good for her, her body had endured so much. Tomorrow should be a little better with Georgia a little more with it, they have said that the first couple of days would be the worst than start to gradually get better. We saw pt, ot, and speech today. Dr. Lee came by and saw Georgia and he showed me the MRI post surgery, they did not take out a lot of her left side but they did cut all connection with the right side. With that being said, we should never see another seizure, the only reason that we would see a seizure is if they did not disconnect everything but that is what the MRI was for. Dr. Lee said that he was pleased about the surgery, he also addressed the right sided paralysis, he said her brain has to catch up but within a few days to a few weeks it should come back, we serve an amazing God and I believe that He will restore her to at least her baseline pre-surgery. Only He knows. Also, Dr. Lee said something about Georgia getting morphine and said we should refrain from giving it to her, Georgia was not pleased with this, she threw up on him! Haha! I know it's not good to give her that kind of stuff but I'm not about to watch my child cry in pain when there is something we can give her to help, she probably has a splitting headache. He also said by this time next year Georgia should be running, climbing, walking, maybe even talking, I told him well all we wanted was seizure control and everything else would just be icing on the cake, he said well you are going to get a lot of icing! Yay! Bring on he icing! Dr. Baumgardner (the surgeon) stopped by today to check on Georgia, he said everything we are seeing is normal. He also told us some pretty alarming statics, 30% of children have intractable epilepsy, meaning they do not respond to meds. Less than 1% of these children get the help they need. There are only about 6 comprehensive epilepsy programs in the states, can you believe this? I'm so glad we got to come here, I will be a walking billboard for this program, anyone that I can possibly help I want to. Emotionally, we are doing good. Conerly has kept us busy which has been nice, he is such a caring baby brother, wanting to get in bed with his sister and love on her. I feel weird, not seeing Georgia seize is crazy, it's been a part of our lives for so long, it's an adjustment. We decorated Georgia's room with all the cards and posters, looks like a completely different place, full of love and prayers. We love all the nurses and just every one that we have met her, we could not be in a better place to recieve our miracle.
